There's no getting away from the fact that most men and quite a few women, absolutely hate condoms. There's also no getting away from the fact that condoms do an essential job. They protect against pregnancy and STDs. But here's a new bit of research going on that's trying to develop a better, pleasure enhancing condom. And maybe we'll all love it!
Our Leeds Escorts were fascinated by this research. Scientists at the University of Wollongong (!), yes, that's in Australia, are working on a condom that they claim will enhance pleasure.
A biomedical engineer, Dr Robert Gorkin, is the project leader and explained that this team are aiming to replace the latex condom with a new material which is more like skin. Called a 'tough hydrogel' it’s a suite of material that can be made to feel, look and act more like real skin.
Dr Gorkin went on to say: ‘We’ll be able to look at brain activity to see whether it really feels better than latex. If you make them so pleasurable that people can’t wait to put them on, then more people will use them, and we can hopefully stop the spread of disease. It’s as simple as that.’
The project is only 9 months old, so it might be a while before these new condoms hit the shelves!< Back to blog
